Once a month, we gather together in a space in West Philly that can fit up to 60 people to watch a movie and talk about it. We generally focus on recent dvd releases of foreign, independent, and documentary films. After watching the film together, we have a discussion which usually lasts about 50 minutes. It's been great to meet people from so many different backgrounds and see the value that diversity adds to our group and discussions. Javaflix is a free event.

The Hiway Theatre Film Discussion Group takes place on the 2nd Monday of each month in the theatre lobby immediately following the 7 pm screening of the current film. Discussions are led by Adrienne Redd, experienced film discussion leader, lecturer and professor. The discussions are open to the public and free with paid admission. There is no charge to attend the discussion only.
